You know, the Japanese practically invented the notion of "form meets function." Case in point is the Wajima "Something to Touch" speaker system, a meshup of centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship with modern technology. The unit is made from lacquered ginko tree wood and can be placed face down on its base when not in use to create a tear drop-like sculpture. I have no idea how the sound quality is, but I'm guessing at $6,000 (that's U.S. dollars, not Japanese Yen) - it has to be pretty damn good.
