This is the Goombay Smash , a tropical cocktail from the Pink Sands Resort on Harbour Island in the Bahamas. I particularly like the thought of this drink because it incorporates my favorite liquor: rum. And plenty of it. Coconut, dark, light and gold rum establish the potent base for what has become one of the more popular drinks in the Caribbean. While the Pink Sands takes credit for the modern day Goombay, it is said that the original smash was created in Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas, at Missy Emily's Blue Bee Bar. Home of the "world famous" Goombay Smash, as advertised by the sign in front of Missy Emily's shack. Tell you what, I don't care if this thing tastes like piss, I just love saying "Goombay Smash". Go ahead, say it. Fun isn't it?
