[music] broken english by karsh kale
On March 21, New York-based musician/producer Karsh Kale will release "Broken English," his third album since debuting in 2001 with "Realize," his first solo effort. Karsh Kale (pronounced kursh ka-le) is credited for being one of the first and major influencers of the Asian Massive movement - a musical phenomenon with roots in the underground clubs of both the UK and US. Broken English, however, will be one of those genre-defying albums according to Six Degrees - the record label that has released every Kale album. While his music is generally tagged as electronica, fusion, or an exotic blend of East and West, Kale says Broken English represents "music which comes from New York: it's the Bhangra and Bollywood of Jackson Heights (New York's Little India district), the hip hop of Brooklyn and the South Bronx, the electronica of the Chelsea nightclubs, and the rock-n-roll of the Lower East Side." Broken English will feature collaborations with artists such as MC Napoleon, Trixie Reiss of Crystal Method, Bollywood composer Salim Merchant, Diedre of Ekova and MIDIval PunditZ.
