The Thievery boys have done it again. The digital duo of Eric Hilton and Rob Garza have released another masterful remix album, cleverly naming it "Versions" (they aren't remixes, they are simply Thievery's versions of songs that have already been recorded). Versions includes, er, versions of songs by a pretty diverse range of artists including The Doors, Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones, Anoushka Shankar & Bebel Gilberto to name a few. With Versions, Hilton and Garza have gone back to their roots of downtempo jazzy electro-lounge beats, upon which they built their early reputation. With summer upon us, this will be the perfect "cruising-down-the-street-with-my-windows-down-and-the-voume-on-full-blast-in-my-not-so-sexy-Toyota" album.
