Self-proclaimed sophisticated travel guru André Gayot brings us his top ten list of New Years eve celebrations for 2005/06. Gayot, who began his Gayot guides in 1981 has been compiling the New Years list since 2003. The oh-five iteration includes a bash at Buckingham Fountain (Chicago), a Harry Potter-like affair in Edinburgh Scotland, Acapulco (the Mexican Las Vegas), Prague in the Czech Republic (the "it" destination as of late), as well as Shanghai, Rome, Vienna, San Fransisco, Orlando and Whistler in British Columbia, Canada. While places like New York, Las Vegas and Sydney appear to be wrongfully missing from the list, I should mention Gayot has already highlighted these cities in his previous 2003 and 2004 lists. Would be great to hit all of these parties in one night, wouldn't it? Where's a damn flux capacitor when you need one?
