[tech & gadgets] motorola q

I think 2006 is going to be the year I finally pull the trigger on getting myself a PDA. I got my first PDA itch back around 1999/2000, when the colorful Handspring Visors were introduced and were (briefly) the talk of the town. There was something still very incomplete about the PDA market at that time. While they ranked high on cool factor, the PDA had a long way to go in terms of functionality. In early 2006, Motorola will be more than addressing this problem with the introduction of the smartphone simply called the "Motorola Q." At 0.45 inches thick, the Q will be the world's thinnest PDA, replicating one of the main reasons the RAZR has been such a huge success. The Q will also be outfitted with a 1.3 megapixel photo/video camera, stereo-quality speakers and a high resolution (320x240 pixel, TFT) screen. A mini SD slot will allow you to expand memory for those audio or video files you may want to take around with you. No details on price as of yet, but we are being promised a Q1 2006 launch. Which is going to make it a challenge for me to fulfill that "save more money this year" line item on my New Years resolution list. Damn.
