[autos + vintage] bugatti's bugatti

Between 1934 and 1940, just 710 of these Bugatti Type 57C's were built - that fact alone makes this car a rare collectible. What makes this particular 1936 model so special is that it is the very car Ettore Bugatti himself drove. That's like saying you own a pair of Chuck Taylors that Chuck Taylor wore..or something. Except these kicks will probably cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $12 million. Bugatti's Bugatti is planning to be auctioned off this August at the ever so ritzy Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Experts are saying that this 57C is expected to surpass the record setting $12.1 million recently paid for a 1957 250 Ferrari Testa Rossa. What better way to tell the economy to go F itself than dropping the equivalent of Nepal's GDP on a car?
