[travel + booze] grey goose sub zero ice bar, montreal

The Hotel Place d'Armes in Montreal houses the very appropriately named Sub Zero ice bar. Constructed from 70,000 pounds of ice, the rooftop bar is kept at -1 centigrade (that's 30 F for you non-Canadians) in order to ensure all things ice are kept in, well, ice form. That includes the bar, the furniture, some of the glasses, the variety of ice sculptures and just about everything else which seems to be made out of the cold stuff. Sub Zero is expected to stay open through early March (weather permitting, of course).
